New Hampshire Young Republican Chairman David Hurst Thanks Republican Leadership For Passing A Responsible Budget That Does Not Burden Future Generations

Concord, NH-After learning of the passing of the New Hampshire Budget with a veto-proof majority, New Hampshire Young Republicans Chairman David Hurst issued the following statement:

“I am very pleased to see our Republican elected officials have kept their promise to the people of New Hampshire. That promise was to balance the budget without raising taxes or borrowing more money. The legislature should be applauded for achieving this goal, which seemed impossible only a year ago when Democrats controlled the House and Senate. Young Granite Staters concerned about a growing burden of debt should be glad to see that someone is finally looking out for our generation’s future. New Hampshire’s young voters should applaud their fiscally responsible Republican legislators and respond by electing more Republicans in future elections.”

The New Hampshire Young Republicans are a proud coalition of men and women aimed at preserving Republican values in local, state and federal government. We are comprised of a broad network of students, young professionals, activists and elected officials from every corner of the Granite State. The mission of the New Hampshire Young Republicans is to encourage young people, ages 18 to 40, to become more involved in Republican politics in the Granite State.

New Hampshire Young Republican Chairman David Hurst Asks That Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson Be Included In The June 13th Debate

After learning that former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson was not invited to participate in the presidential debate scheduled June 13th at St. Anselm College, New Hampshire Young Republicans Chairman David Hurst issued the following statement:

“The decision to exclude Gary Johnson is completely out of step with the spirit of the New Hampshire primary. The New Hampshire Young Republicans do not endorse primary election candidates, but we do endorse an open political process that keeps New Hampshire special. Johnson is a former two-term governor with an impressive resume, and his ten visits to the Granite State demonstrate that he is serious about competing in our first-in-the-nation primary. We respectfully request that the debate partners — CNN, WMUR, and the New Hampshire Union-Leader — reconsider this decision and welcome Gov. Johnson to the June 13th debate.”

We are comprised of a broad network of students, young professionals, activists and elected officials from every corner of the Granite State.
